Snagit (Windows): Auto-Scroll No Longer Works in Chrome

Problem

The capture appears to work, but the result is not a scrolled capture. Part of the Desktop may also be in the final capture.

Solution

This is a known issue that we hope to fix in a future release. This problem may occur if the DPI of the monitor is set to anything by 100%. Please use one of the workarounds below to take a scrolling capture in Chrome.

Snagit 13 and Later

Option 1: Change the DPI

Windows 10

  1. Click Start > Settings > System > Display.
  2. For each monitor, set Change the size of text, apps, and other items to 100%.
  3. Log out of Winodws, and log back in.

Windows 8.1

  1. Open Control Panel > Display.
  2. Select Let me choose one scaling level for all my displays.
  3. Set the scaling level to 100%.
  4. Log out of Winodws, and log back in.

Windows 7

  1. Open Control Panel > Display.
  2. Set the scaling level to 100%.
  3. Log out of Winodws, and log back in.

Option 2: Panoramic Capture

Use the panoramic capture method to capture the content. See this tutorial to learn how to use panoramic capture in Snagit.

Snagit 12

As a workaround, please use the Custom Scroll capture method.
