TechSmith Relay: Problems with recorder connecting to Relay Server

When Relay Recorder initially opens, the software attempts to communicate with the Relay Server over a secure channel.  This process requires the server to have a valid SSL certificate installed.  If the server does not have a valid SSL certificate, the communication with the server will fail and Recorder will remain in “Offline Mode”.

If you are a Presenter and are looking for an explanation as to why your Recorder is unable to connect, please consult your Relay System Administrator.

Recorder does report connection errors to the Windows Event Viewer.  If you are looking for additional troubleshooting information, please access Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer > and look under the “TechSmith” node.  If you would like to consult Technical Support regarding this problem, please export the “TechSmith” node in the Event Viewer and attach it to your support incident.
