TechSmith Relay: Recorder fails to install with a 1303 error

Under certain circumstances, the Relay Recorder installation will fail on a computer where the Microsoft PowerPoint tool is running in the background.

The 1303 error will look similar to this:


To resolve this issue, please save and close all open PowerPoint instances prior to attempting to install the Relay.
