This message occurs even though Camtasia Studio works and a valid product key has been used to unlock the program. This is a known issue with Camtasia Studio 7and Camtasia 8.
This issue occurs when a product key has been used to unlock the full version of Camtasia Studio and no name was specified.
To resolve this issue, perform the following registry modification
- Exit Camtasia Studio.
- Open the Windows Registry Editor: press Windows key + R, type in regedit and click OK.
- Navigate to the following registry location
- Windows 64-bit

- Windows 32-bit
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > TechSmith > Camtasia Studio > 7.0
