During Recording My Cursor Flickers

Problem

While recording with Camtasia on Windows the cursor flickers.

Solution

This occurs when the Capture Layered Window is enabled in the recorder. There are various options to resolve this issue.

Option 1: Disable Capture Layered Windows in Camtasia Recorder

Disabling the Capture Layered Windows will resolve the flickering, however, some windows and/or tooltips will not be captured in your recording. To disable this option:

1. Open Camtasia Recorder.
2. Select Tools > Options > General.
3. Deselect Capture Layered Windows under Capture.
4. Click OK.
   

Option 2: Disable Capture Layered Windows in PowerPoint

Captured Layered Windows is set to default in the PowerPoint add-in. When disabling the option, the flickering should not appear in the finished recording. To disable this option:

1. Open PowerPoint.
2. Select Add-ins > Camtasia Recording Options.
   
3. Deselect Capture Layered Windows under Video and Audio.
4. Click OK.
   

Option 3: Update Video Drivers

Update your video card drivers from your computer manufacturer's web site.
