My capture is clear when viewed in Snagit Editor but when I share it to Microsoft Word (or other applications) it appears blurry or has changed in size.
Snagit captures your image at 100% of its original size. If you scale the image in Snagit, the image quality can be affected.
Some applications shrink images to fit in the application window or frame which can cause the image to appear blurry or skewed. Check the application for an option to display the image at 100% or its original size.
To test if the application is scaling the image, paste the image into Microsoft Paint. Microsoft Paint will not scale the image.
Images in Snagit
Make sure the image was not resized in the capture settings in the Capture Window or in Snagit Editor.
Images in Microsoft Word
This issue can occur if a program compresses or compacts an image file. This behavior occurs in Microsoft Word 2010 by default. To fix:
- Right-click the image and select Format Picture.
- On the Size tab, set the Scale option to 100%.
For Microsoft Word 2010, select File > Options > Advanced tab. Make sure the Do not compress images in file option is checked.
Images in Microsoft Outlook 2003
If you copy an image from another application (Snagit Editor, Microsoft Word, or Microsoft Paint) and paste it into Outlook 2003, the image quality appears the same as in the other programs until you send the image. The quality of the image decreases slightly as artifacts occur around the text after you send the image.
