When attempting to launch Snagit for the first time, the error message in the subject of this article appears.
This error message occur in two scenarios.
OS X Security settings
This error message is caused by changes to the Security & Privacy setting inside of the operating system.
In order to resolve this issue, click on the Apple Menu -> System Preferences -> Security & Privacy.
On the General tab, click the lock icon in the bottom left to allow for changes. You will be prompted for your password.
Finally, set it to "Allow apps downloaded from: Anywhere"
You will now be able to open Snagit properly on your machine.
If the download did not complete before the package was ran, then that can also result in this error or something similar. Make sure that the download has completed before attemptign to run the installer. To re-download, please visit our downloads page here.
