Snagit (Mac): Not Able to Capture


When launching Snagit Editor, the menu bar icon or capture window does not appear and is unable to capture with Snagit. These icons do not show when opening Snagit:

Snagit (Mac) 4 and later


Snagit (Mac) 3


Snagit (Mac) 4

Reboot the computer and see if the capture options appear. If they do not appear after rebooting or if the problem is ongoing, please contact support.

Snagit (Mac) 3

OS X 10.8-10.11

Follow the steps below:

  1. Uninstall Snagit (Mac).
  2. Repair disk permissions on the Mac.
  3. Reboot the computer.
  4. Reinstall Snagit 3.

OS X 10.12 and Later
