Video Playback in Snagit Editor

After recording a video capture, the MP4 video file opens in Snagit Editor to preview and edit. The video playback controls appear under the video.

 Video ControlDescription
1 Elapsed time Displays the elapsed time at the playhead's position on the timeline.
2 Start handle Drag the handle to select the starting point for a video selection.
3 Playhead Controls which frame in the video is displayed. Drag the playhead to jump to a specific point in the video.
4 End handle

Drag the handle to select the end point for a video selection.

5 Previous Frame

Click to move back one frame.

Hold down the button to rewind.

6 Play / Pause Play or pause the video.
7 Next Frame

Click to move forward one frame.

Hold down the button to fast forward.

8 Time Displays the total duration of the video.
9 Save Frame as PNG Save the current video frame as a still image. The new image opens in the tray.
10 Create Animated GIF

Save entire video or the current selection as an Animated GIF file.
