FTP

Send a capture to a FTP (File Transfer Protocol) server. Use FTP to transfer files to an outside network using a secure connection.

  1. In Snagit Editor, click to select an image or video in the Recent Captures Tray.
  2. Select Share > FTP.
  3. The Send with FTP dialog appears. Select the desired FTP options and click OK.

FTP Options

To set up an FTP output, select Snagit Editor > Share > More Snagit Outputs > FTP.

OptionDescription
Server Enter the IP address or DNS name of the target FTP server.
Directory Enter the directory path to the server.
Server authentication

.Enter the Username and Password into the fields for server authentication.

Clipboard contents

Select the content to copy to the Clipboard after transferring the file.

  • No Return Text: Do not copy any content to the Clipboard.
  • FTP URL: Copy the FTP URL to the Clipboard. Ex. ftp:ftp.mysite.com/filename.png
  • HTTP URL: Copy the HTTP URL to the Clipboard. Ex. http://mysite.com/filename.png
  • Custom Code: Enter code into the field. Snagit copies the custom code onto the Clipboard based on the tags entered in the code.
