Snagit (Windows): There was an error loading share history

Problem

When launching Snagit, the error below occurs.

Solution

 

UPDATE:

This error is fixed in the latest version of Snagit 13. To install the update, open Snagit and browse to the file menu Help > Check for updates. Or, the update can be downloaded manually here.

This is a known issue that our Engineers are investigating. As a work around Please follow these steps to resolve the issue:

  1. Close Snagit so it is not running.
  2. Hold down the Windows key on your keyboard and then hit the R key to open the run window
  3. Type the following and then hit enter: %LocalAppData%\TechSmith\Snagit\



  4. Delete the ShareHistory.xml file



  5. Try Snagit again and see if it works.
