TechSmith Relay (Hosted): Location of Recording files

Problem

Need to locate recording files created by Either the Classic Recorder or the New Recorder.

Solution

Here are the following locations for locating the recordings for either Classic Recorder or New Recorder:

Classic Recorder

Mac:

Open Finder, at the top edge of the screen, click on Go, then select "Go to Folder" and type in "~/Users/Shared/TechSmith/TechSmith Recorder/Recordings". From there, you will find a MP4 video should represent your recording(if you recorded your webcam, you may have a second MP4 to represent that).

PC:

Hit Windows key + R, and in the Run command type in: %localappdata%\TechSmith\TechSmith Recorder\Recordings, then hit okay. From there you are looking for a file ending in "AVI". likely will also see a WAV and XML- the WAV file being the system audio from the recording. If the recording also included a webcam Picture in Picture, that will show as a separate WMV in that location.

New Recorder

Mac:

Open the Terminal app (found in Applications/Utilities), and within Terminal paste the following:

open $((find /var/folders -name "RelayRecording.mp4" 2> >(grep -v "Permission denied")) | grep -v "Operation not permitted")

This should open the video that failed to upload directly in QuickTime, so you can save it elsewhere on your machine.

PC:

Hit Windows key + R, and in the Run command type in: %temp%, then hit okay. From there you are looking for a file named "_tempRecording-X.mp4" (likely X being the number value to represent how many recordings are currently in the process of being uploaded.
