(Multi-Seat Subscriptions) History of Subscription Events

At manage.techsmith.com, you can view and manage your Direct orders (multi-seat subscriptions purchased via the sales team) for these cloud products:

In Direct orders > History, you can track how your multi-seat subscriptions change over time and find a particular subscription event.

in direct orders, in the subscription history, you can view all events related to all of your multi-seat subscriptions

For each multi-seat subscription that you own, you can view the following details:

You purchased a product on a multi-seat basis, and it was added to a new subscription by our sales team.

  • You returned all seats of a product.
  • You canceled your multi-seat subscription to keep using the product only until the end of the current billing year or month.

You selected a person who should become the new owner of your multi-seat subscription.

In event details:

  • From—Current owner.
  • To—Person selected as the new owner.

You revoked the ownership transfer invitation.

In event details:

  • From—Current owner.
  • To—Person selected as the new owner.

  1. Visit manage.techsmith.com and sign in to your TechSmith account.
  2. Select Direct orders > History.
  3. You can view all events related to all of your multi-seat subscriptions. For each event, you can view the subscription number, PO number (in case you made a purchase with a purchase order), and event date.

    By default, all events are sorted by date (newest on top). To view the oldest events on top, click the Date column header.
  4. Use filters (icon of the filter button) to find a particular event, for example:
    1. Multi-seat subscription created or product added
    2. and subscription No. is A-S00342550
    3. and the time range is September 20–22, 2021

  5. Expand an event to view more details.

Depending on the event type, you can view different details.

Event Description
Multi-seat purchases

You can view the same details for all of these events:

  • Subscription created
  • Product added
  • Product updated
  • Subscription renewed

These details are:

  • Which products were purchased and how many seats.
  • Rate plan (product pricing). For example, “volume” means that the price per seat depends on the number of seats. A “per unit” rate plan means that the price per seat is always the same (that is, the number of seats does not affect the price per seat).
  • Full monthly or yearly price per seat, even if the product was purchased at a prorated or discounted price. To view the order amount, see (Multi-Seat Subscriptions) History of Payments and Refunds.

Multi-seat cancelations and returns
  • Product updated—How many seats of which product were returned or canceled, rate plan, and full monthly or yearly price per seat. To view the refund amount, if any, see (Multi-Seat Subscriptions) History of Payments and Refunds.
  • Product/subscription canceled—Which products were canceled, returned, or removed from an expired subscription.

Ownership transfer

You can view the same details for all of these events:

  • Ownership transfer initiated
  • Ownership transfer canceled
  • Ownership transfer accepted
  • Ownership transfer declined

These details are:

  • Subscription details (products and number of seats).
  • From—Email of the current owner who initiated or canceled the transfer.
  • To—Email of the person who was selected as the new owner and accepted or declined the transfer.

The following events are not reflected in Direct orders > History.

You can view a hint about expiration on the subscription page.

However, in the subscription history, we only track if you renew the subscription.

If within 30 days after expiration, your subscription is not renewed, we hide the subscription details. However, you can still access the subscription history.

icon Your account for multi-seat purchases was updated

We do not track any of the account-related events in the subscription history, such as account created, updated, blocked, or deleted.

icon Your payment method for multi-seat purchases was updated

We do not track the changes to your primary payment method or when you add a credit card to your account.

You can view the currently assigned seats on the Seats page.

In the subscription history, we do not track when you or a seat manager assigns a seat or revokes it.

We do not track the following events:

  • You add or remove a seat manager.
  • Seat manager resigns.

icon Access to your multi-seat product was removed/restored

If your invoice is overdue, we may remove access to the unpaid product until we receive your payment.

You can view the Access removed hint on the subscription page. However, we do not track this event in the subscription history.

Also, we do not track when product access is restored. However, on the subscription page, the Access removed hint disappears.

icon Events initiated by other subscription owners

If you transfer your subscription to a new owner, the last events you will see are Ownership transfer initiated and Ownership transfer accepted. For security reasons, you cannot view the changes made to the subscription by the new owner.

Similarly, if you accepted the invitation to become the new subscription owner, the first event you will see is Ownership transfer accepted. For security reasons, you cannot view the changes made to the subscription by its previous owners.

Frequently Asked Questions

For security reasons, you can view only those multi-seat subscription events that occur while you are the current owner:

  • If you transfer your subscription to a new owner, the last events you’ll see are Ownership transfer initiated and Ownership transfer accepted. You cannot view the changes made to the subscription by the new owner.
  • Similarly, if you accepted the invitation to become the new subscription owner, the first event you’ll see is Ownership transfer accepted. You cannot view the changes made to the subscription by its previous owners.
