Multi-Seat Subscriptions: Purchase Products and Seats

On the subscription management portal at manage.techsmith.com, you can purchase and manage a multi-seat subscription for these products:

If you need a one-seat subscription, you can click the product in the list above and use the Buy Now option. However, please note that subscriptions purchased using this option cannot be managed at manage.techsmith.com.

 

To learn more about multi-seat purchases, click one of the following.

 

Currently, under one account, you can have only one type of subscription – either monthly or yearly.

For example, if you purchased Video Review on a yearly basis, and now want to try Knowmia Pro on a monthly basis, please use a different email address to create one more TechSmith account, and then contact our Sales team to create a monthly subscription under the new account.

To add the first product to your yearly or monthly multi-seat subscription, please contact our Sales team. After this, you can purchase additional products on the subscription management portal at manage.techsmith.com.

The option to purchase a product is not available on the subscription management portal in the following cases:

 

To purchase a product:

  1. Go to the subscription management portal at manage.techsmith.com and sign into your TechSmith account.
    If the “Product subscriptions will appear here” message appears, see Multi-Seat Subscriptions: Create and View Subscription > Why Can’t I View My Account and Subscription section.
  2. On the My subscriptions tab, in the Payment method section, make sure that the desired payment method is set as primary (will be used for this order and future orders within your current billing period).

    The following restrictions apply:
    • If you used a credit card when purchasing the first product in your subscription, you need to use this or another credit card for all future orders made at manage.techsmith.com within your current billing period.
    • If you used a purchase order (check or wire transfer) when purchasing the first product in your subscription, you need to use POs for all future orders made at manage.techsmith.com within your current billing period.

  3. In the My subscription section, next to the desired product, click Add (screenshot of the add product button).

    If you purchased your first product on a yearly basis, you can purchase additional products available only a yearly multi-seat basis: Video Review, Assets for Snagit, Assets for Camtasia, Knowmia Pro, and Audiate.
    The same restriction applies to monthly subscriptions: additional products may include Knowmia Pro or Audiate because only these products are currently available on a monthly multi-seat basis.

  4. Select the applicable Rate plan, ex. Assets for Snagit recurring volume rate plan:
    • “Recurring” means that the product subscription is valid for a year.
    • “Volume” means that the price per seat depends on the number of seats.

    If you are purchasing Knowmia Pro or Audiate, you may have a per unit rate plan. "Per unit" means that the price per seat is always the same (that is, the number of seats does not affect the price per seat).
  5. In Number of seats, specify the number of team members who will be using the product.
    In case of a volume rate plan, the system selects the pricing Tier depending on the specified number of seats (ex. tier 2 with a yearly price per seat of USD 39.00).

    If you are not sure about the exact number of seats at the moment, you can complete the purchase now and later purchase additional seats or return unused seats.
  6. Review the automatically calculated Product price which equals the yearly price per seat from the applicable tier multiplied by the number of seats.
    In this example, we have 6 seats with tier 2 pricing (USD 39.00 per seat). As a result, the yearly product price is 6 seats * USD 39.00 = USD 234.00.
    If a discount is available, you can view the yearly product price After discount (ex. USD 187.20).

  7. If needed, add more products or seats to your order.
  8. In the Order summary section, click Calculate.

  9. Review the Order price calculated for the time that remains until the next payment date.
    In this example, the next payment date is March 10, 2021. The current date is May 18, 2020 and you are purchasing Assets for Snagit for almost 10 months. The 12-month price for six Assets for Snagit seats, discount amount, and tax amount are reduced automatically.

  10. (If your primary payment method is purchase order) Provide the purchase order number for this order.

  11. Make sure that all order details are correct and click Purchase.

    The Purchase option is not available if your account is blocked (ex. because of overdue payments). For more details, see Multi-Seat Subscriptions: Manage Overdue Payments and Account Blocking > What If My Account Is Blocked section.

  12. Confirm that you would like to place your order.
    If your primary payment method is purchase order, you are expected to make the payment via a check or wire transfer within 30 days. Before clicking Confirm, please familiarize with the Terms and Conditions for the product(s) that you are about to purchase.

    If your primary payment method is credit card, the system tries to withdraw the payment automatically. If your payment fails, ex. because of insufficient funds or incorrect credit card details, you can see the corresponding error message. Please contact the card-issuing bank or add another card and set it as primary. Then, try to purchase the product again. If the payment error persists, please contact our Sales team.
  13. Assign the purchased product seats to end users. For more details, see Multi-Seat Subscriptions: Manage Seat Assignments.

  14. (If your primary payment method is purchase order) Make the payment via a check or wire transfer – please use the instructions provided in the invoice sent to your billing email address. Alternatively, you can pay with a credit card. For more details, see Multi-Seat Subscriptions: Manage Overdue Payments and Account Blocking.

 

To view the order and payment details, click the Subscription history tab:

  • Product added event shows the details about the purchased product.

  • Payment event shows the invoice details:
    • If your primary payment method is credit card, the payment is processed automatically, and you can view the payment details immediately.

    • If your primary payment method is purchase order, the payment details will appear in the subscription history after our Accounting team receives your check payment or wire transfer.

      Order confirmation, the invoice itself, and the instructions for making the payment are sent to your billing email address.

      Please make the payment within 30 days within your order being processed. Otherwise, your account may be blocked. For more details, see Multi-Seat Subscriptions: Manage Overdue Payments and Account Blocking.

For example, if you purchased several Knowmia Pro seats on a monthly basis, and now want to purchase more seats on a yearly basis, please use a different email address to create one more TechSmith account, and then contact our Sales team to create a yearly subscription under the new account.

This section explains how to purchase additional seats for a previously purchased product. Let's say you previously purchased six Assets for Snagit seats and due to a team extension, you need two additional seats.

The option to purchase additional seats on the self-service management portal is not available in the following cases:

  • The total number of seats exceeds the limit for an online purchase.
    Currently, the maximum number of seats for an online purchase is 25 seats. If you need 26 or more seats, please contact our Sales team.

To purchase additional seats:

  1. Go to the subscription management portal at manage.techsmith.com and sign into your TechSmith account.

  2. On the My subscriptions tab, in the Payment method section, make sure that the desired payment method is set as primary (will be used for this order and future orders within your current billing period).

  3. In the My subscription section, locate the product for which you need to purchase additional seats.
  4. On the product card, click the ellipsis button (screenshot of a three dots button) and click Edit product.

  5. In New number of seats, enter the new number of total seats. Ex. if you currently have six seats and need two more seats, enter 8.
    The pricing Tier with the applicable Price per seat is selected automatically.

  6. Click Show price to view the price for the new seats.
  7. In Product price, review the price of the new seats calculated for the time that remains until the next payment date.
    In this example, the next payment date is March 10, 2021. The current date is May 18, 2020 and you are purchasing two new Assets for Snagit seats for almost 10 months. The standard 12-month price for these two seats is 2 * USD 39.00 = USD 78.00 USD but, in our case, the price is reduced to USD 63.26.
    If a discount is available, you can view the applicable price After discount (ex. USD 50.61).

  8. If needed, add more products or seats to your order.
  9. In the Order summary section, click Calculate.

  10. Make sure that all order details are correct.
    If your primary payment method is purchase order, provide the purchase order number for this order.

  11. Click Purchase.
