Organize Media

Learn how to organize your content to quickly find and share media within TechSmith Knowmia.

  • Add folders on My Library tab to organize your personal media library.
  • Add collections to organize media to share with a class or group.

 

Complete any of the following to organize the media:

 

Add a Folder

  1. Click the My Library tab.
  2. Select Create > New Folder or click the + icon.
  3. Enter a folder name and click Create.

 

Add Media to a Folder

To drag individual media directly into a folder, click the icon and drag into a folder on the left.

 

To add one or more pieces of media to a folder:

  1. Click the My Library tab.
  2. Click the checkboxes to select the desired media.
  3. Click the  icon and select Move.
  4. Click New Folder or select a folder from the Select Location dropdown.
  5. Click the Move button.

The selected media is moved to the folder.

 

Add a Collection

Add a collection to organize a group of media to share with a class or group.

  1. Click the My Library tab.
  2. Click the + icon next to My Collections.
  3. The Create New Collection dialog appears. Enter a name for the Collection.
  4. Select the privacy settings and click Create.
  5. Knowmia creates the new collection. To add media to the Collection:
    • Click the icon on a piece of media and drag it to a collection on the left.
    • Click the icon and select Share to Collection. Select a collection from the dropdown and click Share Media to Collection.

Sort Media

To sort the content in My Library or within a folder, click the Date, Title, or Views sort options.
 

 

Copy Media

  1. Click the My Library tab.
  2. Click the  icon on the media and select Copy.

A duplicate of the media is added to the current location.

 

Replace Media

Upload an updated file when you have an update or fix to make to the existing media.

  1. Click to open the media.
  2. Select More > Replace Media.

 

Delete Media

  1. Click the My Library tab.
  2. Click the  icon on the media and select Delete.
