Camtasia 2021 Crashes After Displaying the Welcome Screen

Problem

I am unable to open Camtasia as it crashes after displaying the splash screen.

Solution

This can occur if your Color Management Device Profile is set to a virtual color profile. Please follow these steps to resolve the issue.

1. Type color management into the Windows start menu and open it up
2. Open the Advanced tab
3. Under the device profile section, choose sRGB IEC61966-2.1
   
4. Select close in the bottom right of the window and attempt to open Camtasia
5. If the issue remains, follow the same steps above to get to the Advanced tab
6. Once there, click on Change system defaults in the the bottom left corner of this window
   
7. In the new window that appears, go to the advanced tab
8. Under the device profile section, choose sRGB IEC61966-2.1
   
9. Close out of these windows and try Camtasia again
