I've been a big fan of Camtasia as we use it to publish our videos to over 650,000 participants in our classes. We had a great workflow down for ID, recording, editing, publishing, and moving on to the next project.
Camtasia has become The Bottleneck in our production. Constant crashes, conflicts with Bluetooth (come on, Bluetooth? Really?), things that work one day and then randomly don't work the next - such as transitions - and reboots, preference checking (and rechecking), and the fear of installing some new hardware that has nothing to do with Camtasia but just might send the app into intensive care.
My biggest complaint is batch processing is a total train wreck. There are so many issues with this hugely popular feature. Did Techsmith even test this feature? Constant issues and time suck every project.
How the hell did TechSmith actually release this hot garbage? How did they decide this was a great new app, better than all of their previous versions? At least the previous version was stable.
I've years invested in Camtasia, and I'm seriously giving thought to moving our team to a different video editor. I don't want something as bloated as Premiere, but I don't know other alternatives. Open to ideas - after this last project, we're at least surrendering and moving backward to an older version of Camtasia.
Get your act together, Techsmith. I'd make a video of this app's issues, but it'd probably crash when I record it.
