No Subfolder Option in Screencast
Hello, all.
I want to create subfolders in my Screencast archive. To learn how, I tried this article:
https://www.techsmith.com/learn/tutorials/screencast/media-library/#folder
Unfortunately, when I click the vertical three dots (no matter where I am, and I've tried every place I can think of), there is no option entitled Create Subfolder. I get only two choices: Share or Delete.
Can someone tell me the location I missed? Alternatively, can someone confirm this feature was purposely taken away, and I'm not losing my mind after all?!

Hi Tom
I have a good guess what is going on here.
Currently (January, 2023 as of this writing), Screencast.com is doing an infrastructure upgrade, and as such, you may be using "Screencast Classic" but this subfolder feature is only available on the new Screencast. It is one of the many improvements that we're introducing.
To tell if this is the case, look in the upper left corner, and if it says "Screencast Classic" then you know that right now, all of your content is still on Screencast Classic:
Over the coming months, we will be introducing options to upgrade and migrate your content to the new Screencast so that you can take advantage of things like this, and give you a nice long window of time to choose when you want to do that upgrade.
THEN you should be able to add subfolders on the left hand side like this:0 -
Hi, Paul, and thanks for answering so quickly!
My screen looks like this ...

Ah, well, you're certainly in the right place then.
Hit the big "+" button next to "MY LIBRARY" and it'll let you create a folder.
If you want to create a subfolder inside of one of those folders, then it's the "..." next to the folder name.
We were, apparently, splitting hairs over the terms. Let me know if it works?

It is nice of you to check in again. Thanks for that.
I have a looming suspicion that the problem may center on my trying to create a subfolder within a collection rather than a master folder. Checking that theory shortly!

Ahhh you are correct. Collections are neither folders nor do they contain folders/subfolders.
Basically, folders are for organizational purposes and collections are for sharing with people, who can either view OR contribute, depending on the permissions you set.
