Cute but not even close to solving the problem. For one thing, the mouse is not precise enough. For another, doesn't help when there's other media on the same track you don't want to move.

There is another feature request dating back 4 years for this feature....

feature request: Nudge media clips using keyboard

I suspect there may be an older one that got lost in shuffle as Techsmith switched forums over the years.

In most programs that offer nudging its very quick & simple.

Highlight the media, hit 1 key to nudge 1frame left, a different key to nudge 1 frame right. There's usually a modifier key like Shift, hold shift and nudge 5 frames right or left.

Brooks, the Technical Product Manager says its on his wish list. That was 3+ years ago. Odds are its coming one day.

I've positioned the playhead where desired using { Period and Comma } to move it one frame at a time. Then, used Playhead Snapping to move the media to the playhead. Its not ideal but the process can be summed up in a few words.

The playhead is stationary so with playhead snapping. The mouse doesn't have to be precise, you position the playhead first. Then, drag the media to the playhead and let it snap into place.

Its a workaround, its not ideal.

Sometimes playhead snapping doesn't work very well. For example if I set the playhead at 30 seconds and there's another track below it with a boundary at 29 seconds, I found that playhead snapping favors snapping to the media below it making it actually fairly difficult to put it precisely where you want. Maybe there's a workaround for that too?

Holding the Control key will temporarily disable snapping.

Drag the media past the 29 seconds mark.

Release the Control key and drag the media back to 30 seconds.

Zooming further into the timeline will give you more control as well.

Great to see all these workarounds!  Not only are they creative and applicable in other situations, they really help to show how important it is for Techsmith to support selected-media nudging with kb shortcuts!
