Bill, can you paste here an image that you try to grab text from?

Tried with 23.1.1 as well and it seems to work:

Hi David. Here's what I get 100% of the time for any grab. I use it often so I will have to get support to tell me how to roll back to the last release where scrolling capture didn't work (sigh). A little frustrating for what used to be the best screen capture on the planet IMO that I've used since it first came out.

    Cheers...

    Hi Bill,

When you get that kind of error from Snagit like that, there should be a diagnostic message in this file: C:\Users\{your-user-name}\AppData\Local\TechSmith\Logs\SnagitEditor.log (you can get there by typing into the Windows Explorer address bar: %LocalAppData%\TechSmith\Logs)

Can you share that file so I can see what it says?

I'm having this same issue. The SnagitEditor.log was last modified in 2022 however and doesn't contain pertinent information. The file SnagitCapture_VerifyErrors.log was modified today though. I can copy the entire files text here but I don't see that I can add an attachment to this message.

There is a SnagitEditor.exe.log file too. Has that been modified recently?

Can you put that file in a cloud location (OneDrive, GoogleDrive, DropBox, etc.) and share the link to it? (or just ZIP up all the .log files in that "Logs" folder..)

Did the zip file give you the needed information to help find a solution?

What is the URL to the share location? (where is the ZIP file?)

Update: I worked with support trying a number of different things including full uninstall and reinstall (twice). None of them worked out for the new release so I ended up reverting to the prior release where grab text works fine.

I had the same issues; neither grab text nor scrolling capture would work; had to revert to 2023.1.0.
