Capture region not working

Quite suddenly, I have no idea why, capturing a region stopped working. All the parameters seem correct, and I certainly haven't changed any, but when I hit the hotkey (print screen) it defaults to capture window. If I hit the large red CAPTURE button it works as expected.

Any thoughts?

  Just to add one more tidbit, the problem seems to be with the PrintScreen key. If I set something like "ctrl+Shift+P" it works fine. I'm thinking that the last set of Microsoft patches broke something.

  I had the same issue, but managed to fix it by going into:
  
  Snagit Capture Preferences (not Snagit Editor Preferences)

  Then clicking on the Hotkeys Tab, and selecting the "Allow Snagit to override other hotkey assignments" check box on the bottom of that tab.

  I assume you mean from the Snagit screen with the large red button.

  I went to File/Capture Preferences. I tried that and it didn't help.

  Yeah - thats' the one.  It's been a few hours and have done a restart and its still working for me.

  I'm on Version 2023.1.1 (64bit) (Build 27519) if relevant.
