Okay, so I work with a creative team that uses Camtasia on both Windows and Mac platforms, and we use it daily. I'd like to say we are power users too.
However, I'm completely baffled that Camtasia lacks the ability to open a separate running instance of the application within the Windows platform, whereas Mac OS, I can open up at least 5 instances simultaneously.
A couple of the use cases (but not limited to) is copying assets, but it's to also help compare projects side by side on certain elements. Utilizing the Library does work, but it delays the workflow; especially if we need to move back to the previous project to grab another asset on the fly. Which requires us to close and re-open the previous project.
We are working on decent up-to-date hardware. They're not 3D workstations or gaming machines, but perfectly capable of running a few Adobe apps, office apps, and media/design applications simultaneously.
My enablement team work hard to create amazing content, but my colleagues shouldn't have to compromise their choices in OS platforms because of this. In addition to this, the application is quite expensive, so the inability to run simultaneous sessions is quite odd.
