Sign up confusion on jing app.
Sign up in Jing application (windows) caused me a real headache today.
I enter my email, tab to display name and enter my name "John Nolan", tab and enter my fairly long password. I then hit create. Only at this point do I get an invalid box. It says "Must be 2-20 alphanumeric characters, start with a letter and no spaces." I assume its my number starting password. Is there anyway to validate on field exit and not on create as this wasted more minutes of my time than I would have liked.

Hey Johnno,
Sorry to hear about your frustrations! We never want our customers to think of anything as wasting time, and we design our products to avoid that as much as possible. I'll be sure the Jing dev team sees this feedback to see what we can accomplish in the future. Unfortunately, for now we're not able to have a number starting the password.
Sorry that I'm not able to help you out more!0 -
Hey Johnno,
So you're looking for real time password validity checking, rather than having to click create to find out you need a different password?0 -

on all fields. The problem looked to me that it was on PW but it was actually on Displayname. The irony is that i had jing installed I could show you :) 0 -
Hey there,
Ahhh, ok, I see what you are referring to. Like I said, I'll make sure this is seen by the people who can fix it.
Also, we do have Snagit as well, and a free 30 day trial here: http://www.techsmith.com/download/sna...0 -
I have the same issue (2 years later). I entered an alphanumeric password, but it will not allow. 0 -
Sorry to hear you are having this issue. I would contact TechSmith which I have provided the information below for doing that. They would be better equipped to check into this problem you are having and can offer you better support with that issue. This is a user to user forum and it would not be advised to try and have another user help with this issue as they would or might need your password and other information which I would never advise giving that out to anyone except for the TechSmith Support people (Employees) for that assistance you might need. Anyway here is their contact information below:

I'm having the exact same issue. I started with letter and tried numerous combinations. Letter then numbers, letters+numbers+special characters and I continue to have the same response. M ust be 2-20 alphanumeric characters, start with a letter and no spaces. I've spent 20 minutes, disappointing. I'll try the link to SnagIt. 0 -
Hi, I just downloaded and installed Jing and I had the same problem. Couldn't find a password that allows me to finish the installation (today is 16 Jun 2016) 0 -
Same here 0 -
Same issue until I read this thread and realized that the was refferring to the Display Name and not the Password. Romoved the space in the Display Name and it worked 0 -
This is really easy, you need create a account in Camtasia, you can only sing in with your google account. 0 -
The problem is the "display name"... its a "user name" what they want... so... you just need to make a username instead os a Display name... no spaces 0
