I am creating documentation on how to crop and resize images and wanted to capture the whole Snagit Editor screen to put in my document. By default the editor screen disappears when the print screen is selected. I am unable to find any setting that will allow me to prevent this. Can you direct me?

Look at the preferences for the main capture icon. Mine's in my system tray.

See if de-selecting this option helps.

    Cheers... Rick :)

Thanks, Rick! I found my setting in the Snagit setting, under the Tools dropdown, and program preferences. I have Snagit 10. That is what I needed!

In Snagit 13 the setting is under File, Capture Preferences.

While I was aware of the ability to show/hide the editor or cursor, if I'm trying to get a piece of the SnagIt editor itself, I'm too lazy to change the settings. I just click on the editor window, then hit Alt-print-screen (capture window).  Then, in the SnagIt editor, I choose File | New | From Clipboard to put the capture into the editor. This only works if you don't want to capture an expanded menu, though.  For added fun, do it over and over to get an editor, in an editor, in an editor...

In SnagIt 2022.11, the option is under the omnipresent-dropdown-from-the-screen-edge capture tool's Settings gear > Capture Preferences > Capture tab > Hide Snagit when capturing. Which can't be captured by Snagit. :-)
