Snagit Login Changes
Hello!
As part of the Snagit Windows 13.1.2 and Mac 4.1.3 updates that were released today (Tuesday April 18, 2017), we needed to make some changes to keep Google login working. This means we made some changes to how you login to Snagit and some sharing outputs (Google Drive, YouTube, Screencast, and TechSmith Relay). The reason for all of this was because of a change Google is making on April 20th that requires all login to be done in a browser window and not done through the application itself. So, we hopped to it to make sure you could keep using Google login in Snagit.
There are a bunch of other good bug fixes in 13.1.2 and 4.1.3 as well.
This will also impact older versions of Snagit and we are investigating what it will take to get a hotfix for Snagit Windows v12 as well and hope to have an update in the future.
The Google login change does not make the older TechSmith products invalid or unusable. Each product will function normally in all other ways; to share content to YouTube and Google Drive, users can save files locally, which then can be uploaded to YouTube and/or Google Drive through those services. Users wishing to import files from Google Drive will be able to download the file from Google Drive to their local system and import the file from there. If you have Google Drive installed on your computer, you will be able to open any files located in your synced local Google Drive folder. Saving files to your synced local Google Drive folder will automatically upload them to your online Google Drive.
Note that if you have purchased a maintenance agreement you will always have the most recent version of the software, including any fixes for Google-connected services.
Lastly, if you are experiencing any technical issues please be sure to open a support ticket so our Technical Support team can look into it.
Thank you for your continued support!

So next week we will see a SnagIt update! Cool! 0 -
Haha, messed up the date from my notes. It's live today. Checking for updates won't show the new version until we test it out in a few minutes. But it is live on https://www.techsmith.com/download/snagit/ 0 -
You're correct, checking for updates returns that my 13.1.1 version is up to date. I was about to ask about that. 0
