Can I import other recording formats into Morae? (.WAV, MP4, etc)
In my team, we use a variety of tools to record our usability studies. It's been a while since I used Morae, but I was wondering what file format can be imported into the tool. I understand some data (like number of clicks) won't be captured, but I really want it for the annotation tools. . Can the tool import other file formats, and if so, is there a full list of what is supported?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Esther,
In Morae Manager, you can import video files of these types: *.avi, *.wmv, *.asf.

Hi Wayne,
We have a similar scenario, but when importing AVI files, the audio is all messed up. We're happy to reencode them to whatever Morae Manager expects, using something like FFMPEG, but can't seem to produce a file that imports without audio issues.
Can you specify which settings are best for an AVI? Which codecs should we use for video and audio, do you need a particular sample rate etc?

Stephen,
I checked with our Tech Support expert on Morae. He said:I’d recommend using Expression Encoder 4 from Microsoft which converts to a WMV. We have a video on how to use it here.

I hope that helps.

Hi Wayne,
Thanks for the response.
Microsoft discontinued Expression Encoder 4 in 2011 and no longer maintains it.
