    Hi there

Can you be more specific about what you mean when you say:

Should 'pause at the end' work when I play the video within the Camtasia tool?

    Cheers... Rick :)

    Hi Sara,

In regards to #2.  Yes it should work as a SCORM package.  Can you tell me what browser and LMS you are using when you see this behavior?

    Thanks,
    Ben

Rick, when I'm in the Camtasia editor and play the video in the canvas, should the video pause after my interactive hotspot?

Ben, I'm using SumTotal in Chrome. As mentioned, the pause does work here, just nothing happens when I click on the hotspot. I want to create a click through guide for my learners.

    Thanks to you both.

    Hi there

I just tested in version 8 as I seemed to recall that it may have paused and behaved this way. But if it did, it was earlier than version 8. Version 8 is behaving similar to version 2018.

With either version, the playhead just plows on by the quiz. If you want to see a facsimile of what the quiz looks like to your viewers, you need to click the Quiz Preview button.

    Cheers... Rick :)

Hi Rick, I'm not having any issues with the quiz. The quiz is actually working great. I'm wondering about the interactive hotspot specifically.

Hi, just to add, I think I may be missing something. I exported the video to Screencast, and the pause did work but clicking on the hotspot did not (same with SCORM). So are there certain conditions I need to meet?

Sorry, somehow I managed to get the quiz in my head. Probably because of the mention of SCORM and seeing Ben in the thread. Mea culpa

However, given the fact that the editor doesn't pause for a quiz, it's no surprise to me that it also doesn't pause for the hotspot.

If the concern is with testing it, I do note there is a Test button in the properties panel. Perhaps that's a clue that it's not designed to work on the canvas?

    Cheers... Rick :)

What exactly are you attempting to do with the hotspot? I do believe there are some limitations that have been imposed. For example, at one point in older versions we could use it to link to things like PDF documents. And that has gone away because the only linking is now to things beginning with HTTP or HTTPS.

Can you share a screen shot of your properties panel for the hotspot?

    Cheers... Rick :)

Hi Rick, I added a screen shot above. I have the 'click to continue' option selected, I just want the video to continue after the user clicks the hotspot. Right now, nothing happens.

Ahhh sorry. I thought that was simply an image to let us know for certain what you were working with. I say that because it was only configured to pause.

I just tested by creating a quick project and rendering it. Seems to work for me in my testing. But I'm also not running it via an LMS with the SCORM protocol. So I'm not sure what effect that may or may not have.

Hopefully Ben Rhodes will pop in and answer that.

Are you certain you have installed the most recent update? If not, maybe that will help?

    Cheers... Rick :)

    Hey Rick,
I did check my version, and I am all up to date. Because I got the same results in Screen cast, I feel like I'm doing something wrong. But thanks for review.

    Hi Sara,

Can you share the screencast link so I can see what is going on with that hotspot?

    Thanks,
    Ben

hotspots do not generally work when interacted with in the editor [I use Windows version]; also, the "test" function will only invoke the scripted navigation, like go-to-URL, or go-to-time; :test" usually does nothing when hotspot is scripted to stop-at-end, click-to-continue

but all hotspot script configurations should work when video played locally, or off screencast.com, or when hosted on a web site

    Oh sure: http://www.screencast.com/t/YDGkFT7gDbE

It pauses at about 11 seconds, and then the spot (it's opaque) is the bottom left quadrant (ignore the content and prompt, none of it goes together, I was just testing features for SCORM). Attached a screen shot of the video in the Camtasia editor with the hotspot callout selected.

    Thanks Sara,

I looked at the screencast link and it appears the single hotspot that is in the project is 1 pixel in size?

Above is an screenshot of the points of the hotspot being read into the player.  What size is the callout in the editor?

Wouldn't the callout be exactly the shape I created? The scale is at 100% and the position is X(-213), Y(-167). Is there another property I need to set?

Does it matter that I added it to an annotation callout? And not a clip in track 1?

    Sara,

Yes, the Hotspot in the video should be the same size as the callout.  Can you open a support ticket and then we can get the Camtasia file and see what is happening.
