    Yes, there should be no problem running both on the same machine.  If you are recording the screen from the same monitor which is displaying Observer, you will get some odd-looking artifacts of the image repeating itself.

    Can you please describe to me, step by step, how to set this up? I currently am only aware of connecting the two via network.

    You should be able to just put in the name (or IP address) of the computer you are on.  Make sure that Recorder is running before you attempt to connect.  Does this work for you?

    Out of curiosity, why would one want to do this?

    How would this be different than using perhaps Camtasia or SnagIt to record computer activity as well as webcam?
