I agree with you.  Why have they removed such a useful feature.

Just to ensure the dev team or whomever sees this thread down the road is fully understanding what you are referring to, is the image below what you are referring to? (Copied it from SnagIt 12 editor)

thanks for following up, but Im not sure, hard to see what you are referring to exactly.  i don't remember where it was exactly in the older version.  i just want to see the x, y coordinates wherever my mouse is when i move around the image..

I'm still not seeing coordinates. Here's the use case. I have an image 600x200. In it is the back of a football jersey. I'm going to overlay text onto that jersey to personalize it with someone's last name. I want to place my cursor in the center of that jersey and understand that it's exactly 250, 50

In the status bar of the editor where the origination point of the superimposed image is. Looks like as the mouse moved, where you see 58,124 changed and likely represented the coordinates (as related to where the mouse pointer was on the image in the editor).

The 31x79 reflects the pixel size of the selected area.

It's because they feature was removed. The image you see earlier in the thread was copied from an older version of SnagIt that offered that feature. It was posted in an effort to ensure this was what the thread was referring to. ;)

As far as the middle of an image, do the snap guides not help if you insert an object on the image?

I'm uploading the image into another platform where the image is overlayed. I need the coordinates to properly place it in another software entirely.

Really? Has techsmith or snagit confirmed that this was really removed? Why? Would appreciate a response before I just switch tools.

+1, this used to be in bottom left corner of snag-it circa v11.1

I didn't know how much I used this feature until now that it's gone. How hard can it be to add this back? I'm even considering changing back to my old version just to get this back.
