Adding hyperlinks to Snagit PDFs. Possible?

  • Kelly Mullins
    Hi Frank,
You cannot add links when saving as a PDF from Snagit. You have to do that as a separate task from within Adobe Acrobat.

They have made that process pretty simple. Just:
    1. Open your PDF document in Adobe.
    2. From “Tools”, click on “Edit PDF”.
    3. Locate the word or sentence you want to have the hyperlink attached to and select it.
    4. Right-click on the text and choose Create Link. Then add the desired hyperlink text.
    I hope this helps.

Unfortunately my Acrobat is an older version and doesn't have such "modern" tools. I was hoping that buying Snagit, with its easy-peasy PDF creation, would be a better deal than buying the latest, modern Acrobat. Just as long as I can add hyperlinks to certain texts in the PDF, y'know?

Likely no one will read this; however, the problem with the directions is that when you hyperlink the text in a PDF, it will take you to the page in YouTube that includes all other videos to the right and this is not very professional.

Is there a way to do this in a cleaner manner?

SnagIt, I believe with 13, could capture hyperlinks when capturing a webpage.

Kindly restore this most useful feature as soon as possible.

I feel it is inappropriate for SnagIt to charge users for updates to SnagIt that restore functionality that has already been paid for with prior versions.

In my view, degrading SnagIt by removing SnagIt features is something Techsmith management should stop immediately.
