Activating Capture - Can't reach page
I am trying to make the change from Jing to Capture. I have successfully installed Capture onto Windows 10 but when I try and launch the app I am prompted to sign in. When I click on the Sign In button I am taken to a Screencast.com page. I can select my existing account and then enter my password, I see a signing in progress icon and then see a message that states "Hmmm...can’t reach this page"
Any thoughts on how I can get past this and start using Capture? Thanks

The Authentication process passes back information from the web browser to Capture. 127.0.0.1 is a technical way of saying your own computer, and that's the request that's failing. You might have anti virus software, vpn or a firewall that is blocking the request, so I would try disabling any of those until after you're signed in. 0 -
Thanks for help Glenn. I work on a computer via VPN, antivirus and a firewall but don't have permissions to adjust any of them myself. I may have to escalate to the service desk. My machine uses MS Edge as the default browser, I tried copying the URL of the authentication page to Chrome and MS Edge (Beta) and both allow me to log in. I see a message saying that I can close the window and return to Capture but this final step doesn't work. 0 -
Copying and pasting the URL won't work, but you did help me think of something else you could try.
You could use one of your other browsers, navigate to https://www.screencast.com, login and then click on the "Launch Recorder" button near the upper-right hand corner of your library page.
It's still likely one of the other things I mentioned before, but it's something else you can try without getting your IT department involved.0 -
Thanks again Glenn, still did not work. I saw an authentication error. I'll get in contact with my helpdesk. Thank you for your time. 0 -
I downloaded Capture and when I open capture and try to capture part of a page everything goes black. I have windows 10 with 4 screens and all of them go black when I open capture. Never had this problem with Jing.
