I will check the NAS although I am sure Camtasia isn't built to delete entire contents of directories no matter where they are.
Better than backups is realtime redundancy. I have all the files but they are not in the working directory or where I keep files on the network. I hope my mirroring, redundancy and backups aren't TS solution to Camtasia wiping out an entire directory no matter where that directory is located.

What I meant by reference is Camtasia doesn't even have them listed in 'recent files'

Make certain you are on the very latest version of Camtasia mac (2020.0.5).  There was an issue hidden deep in Camtasia code that had been there for years.  Certain conditions had to be true to hit it and no-one ran into it (I believe it required multiple projects open, unsaved projects and a Camtasia crash and then reopening and trying to recover your work - but I may have that incorrect).  Recently someone ran into it and it has been fixed. If you are on 2020.0.5 and somehow still seeing this occur please contact TechSupport with exact steps to replicate this.  It is absolutely the last thing we want to happen.

FYI, we generally, we don't recommend working off of network drives for performance reasons, but that is completely different from what you encountered.

I think you are correct. I was opening 2-3 projects at one time when I got this result. Let me manually update and I will let you know where I was and what update was available.

Great!  You should be all set then.  On the outside chance (and I seriously doubt it will happen) that you ever have a similar experience, please don't hesitate to contact us. I sure hope you were able to recover your work from a backup.
