It should be a simple as enabling the webcam on the toolbar.

You'll want to ensure  you chose the correct audio streams as well.

Thank you very much Joe. Can you then scale the cam window and move it around on top of the screen window?

Thank you agarner32. I'm using a camera connected to my computer. You used a couple of different descriptions: "outside camera" and "webcam connected to computer" and "external camera" ... which fits my "camera connected to my computer"?

Are you using an outside camera or a webcam connected to your computer?  With an external camera it's a slightly different process.  You would need to start recording in Camtasia and the external camera.  At the beginning, clap your hands together to create a spike in the waveform.  When you bring both clips in you just line up the spike to sync them.

...and, "clap you hands together to create a spike in the waveform" is a pretty cool tip that a newbie like me would have never figured out...thanks

Sorry for mixing the terms.  Outside camera wasn't a good term to use - braindead today!!  They mean the same thing.  I often use a really good "external" digital camera to capture me talking so I get a better quality video and a different angle.  I know someone who gets really fancy and uses three cameras for his music tutorials - one webcam and two external cameras.

Got it...thanks. I'll play around with it...but (before I do), will I be able to scale the camera recording window (i.e., make it smaller) and drag it to someplace (like the lower lefthand corner) on top of the screen recorder window?

Yes, because the camera recording will be on a different track in the Camtasia timeline and you can do anything you want with it (move, zoom, transition, etc.)
