I upgraded to Camtasia 2020 a few weeks ago and things have been working reasonably well.
Last night, the internet for the apartment complex where I live went down as Hurricane Sally dropped a lot of rain. It is still not operational. This morning I went to launch Camtasia to edit a video I was part-way through yesterday. I refused to launch fully, hanging part-launched and part not. It indicated it was not running on the Dock, but indicated that the application was not responding in the Dock menu. When I tried rebooting the computer, it complained that Camtasia was still running and stopping the shutdown. Forcing Quit and rebooting changed nothing, as Camtasia still refused to launch.
I went to my office where the internet is still running and Camtasia launched without hesitation.
Is it necessary to have an internet connection for Camtasia to launch? If so, this is a significant restriction to someone who travels a fair bit. I didn't read that it was required in the literature.
