capture a pic and copy into the text of my email

I am having issue with a screen capture ... I used to be able capture ; save on my desktop and drag into an email... for some when I drag it in, it states copy and puts the capture as an attachment instead.

  Once a capture is saved to your desktop it becomes a (PNG) file.  The interaction of your OS and your email client determine what happens when a PNG file is dragged into an email client. (Mostly the email client... if you've recently updated or altered its settings - that could explain a change in behavior)
