Ok, so the program froze, the file was not openable, and the project autosave location, (as claimed by many sources, including this forum) Users/movies/camtasia/temporary recordings was EMPTY, even though auto-save is ALWAYS on. So, the inevitable, start again from scratch. BUT--here's the mystery, I had taken over this project from a collaborator, who had emailed me the file yesterday. I went back to that original file and opened it, and BANG!--Camtasia says there is an auto save! I open that, and there are all my edits! Alright, dear friends and Camtasia experts, where ELSE is Camtasia autosaving on my Mac? It clearly is. Its not in Library/application support/camtasia, I checked there. Search of the cmproj exention on my startup drive yielded zero. So its named something else, and it is kept somewhere else. Please do tell, for this program freezes constantly in every session, and any one of those freezes could end up with an unopenable file.
Think you lost all your work, friends? Not so fast-- It could well be lurking on your Mac somewhere, this situation just proved it. WHERE? And under what name? What extension?
