Hello .. when making a recording using Snaggit I am finding the audio to be too loud - over modulated - and there is no button in the application to push to get to a way to adjust the input levels as there is in other applications like Zoom, Skype and Windows audio recorder.
I have reported this and was was told to go through multiple contortions of reinstalling and looking at registry values and more but when I asked the basic question if all of those hoops I was being sent though would result in the needed button to get to a place to adjust INPUT levels - NOT OUTPUT! - the tech support guy finally answered "no" which is what I thought. Thankfully I did not waste my time with the malarkey and I scolded him for not comprehending the need and for potentially adding a lot of wasted time to my already full plate.
I have seen others making this request in various forums that I Googled and also saw the hoops they were being put through only to not get what is needed. You guys really need to listen better and stop sending out the boilerplate one size fits all solution that has a lot of people wasting a lot of collective time!
My request is to have a better VU meter, perhaps an Auto level control option and at a minimum a way to get to a Mic Input level to be able to adjust the level and not have it at full volume where it seems to be by default.
All the suggestions about talking softly and moving away from the Mic are all crutches for what is really the elephant in the room.
I hope this makes it to the right audience to add this feature in a future upgrade. Maybe find someone on your staff that has some Audio or Radio experience who really knows Audio - they will tell you having no level control and seemingly having it preset to full volume is not good.
