    Hi,

If you hold down the command key, you can select multiple tags and the Library will show only images containing all of the selected tags. I hope this helps!

Thanks for the heads up on that.

It doesn't quite solve the problem in a user friendly way because it requires the user to know which tags a particular file/image already has. In order to do that you need to open the image, and check the particular tags, then go find them in the sidebar menu.

Seems like a pretty easy feature to fix. Is there any chance this would be considered as a change?

I think I'm misunderstanding something, this seems like essentially the same as your first suggestion in the original post. What's the problem you're looking to solve?

The problem is that I want a convenient and fast way to search for images that I've tagged with multiple tags. The command key solution isn't viable for a large amount of tags, as the user would then need to either:

    • remember all the tags an image has (which defeats the purpose of a search functionality)
    • search through each image to check which tags it has and then highlight all those tags (which is time consuming and kind of defeats the purpose of a search functionality)

The existing functionality you mentioned with holding the command key + clicking on tags kind of solves the problem, but its not a real search or filtering function. If you have a large amount of tags and you want to search for images, how will you know which images have which tags so you can use the command key function?

Let me know if that makes more sense.

I think the part I'm still confused by is you mentioned wanting to type tags into the search field, but if you don't know what tags an image has, then how do you know what to search? It seems like the same problem either way. Unless the issue is simply having too many tags in the sidebar to find them all manually.

you mentioned wanting to type tags into the search field, but if you don't know what tags an image has, then how do you know what to search?

In the current UI the user needs to go one by one to check if the image and tag match. Even if I dont know the tag an image has, I can still search for something based on the topic and guess what tags it could have and that would be a faster method. The most optimal solution would include an autocomplete/filter to accelerate searching.

I was thinking the same search UI with dropdowns used for adding tags could be used for searching the library, as this would show a list so its clear what tags exist. As well, there could be an autocomplete or filter based on search term to pare down the list.

Aside from a search tool, even just adding checkmarks to each tag in the current UI to enable a self filter is better than the current method for multitags because it will automatically show you whats included in those tags, as opposed to guessing if theres a match between the image(s) you want and multiple tags.

Let me know what you think.

I think I get it now. I'll pass this feedback along to our designers and see what they come up with.
