How can I make scrolling through the timeline show the video on the canvas more smoothly?

Basically I need to look through hundreds of 2-3 hour long videos and quickly find certain parts that need to be taken out. Specifically, I'm working on a project that involves looking at videos of surgeries, but I have to remove the parts where the camera is removed from the patient's body for cleaning so that the video doesn't contain anything showing the operating room/patient's or doctor's faces. So, I scroll quickly through these videos on camtasia so that when I see the camera was taken out of the patient, I can delete that part. But, the video on the canvas looks quite choppy if I scroll too fast. Is there a way to make it more smooth without having to scroll slower?

have you tried zooming in timeline, then scrolling by dragging the playhead indicator?
