Video is blipping with green flashes

I am trying to drag a few different videos from my media library onto my timeline to edit. But when I get these videos onto the timeline and start to play them back, they start to blip, jump and add these weird green squares all over the place. They are lighter videos in color, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. I have never seen this before so I don't know how to fix it. Please help.
