My team is in the process of upgrading from Camtasia 2019 to Camtasia 2020. For our library assets that are groups with animations applied at the group level, the animations do not import correctly into projects.
Here's a video where I create the group with the correct animations, save it to the library, and then import it into the project. You can see that the animations are not imported correctly, and the grouped assets themselves are not even visible until they're ungrouped:
I also tried adding the group to the library and selecting "Use Visible Size" instead of "Use Canvas Size" (not in the recording). This is slightly better because the assets remain visible and the animations behave properly, but the group gets added to the center of the canvas regardless of its original position, and with two animation arrows on the group that means resetting the position in four places. I need my users to be able to add these assets to their timelines without having to reposition them.
My current workaround is to place the animated group inside another shell group and everything works fine; it only seems to be a problem when the animations are exposed at the top level of the group. But I don't love having to click through multiple group layers to edit text as a long-term solution.
