Feature request and BUG report for screencast "replace video" upload fails, Google Chrome and Firefox
Pretty straight forward here.
When clicking on EDIT=>REPLACE MEDIA feature fails to upload the replacement for a video. Stays stuck at 0% for 45 min. Tried both Chrome (v90) and Firefox (v88). Rebooted, cleared cache, cookies, all the usual jazz. problem persists.
The MP4 can indeed be played, it came out of Camtasia. It can not be a problem with the file being "in use" by Camtasia as a reboot was done.
To recreate the issue, simply try to replace a file... and watch the uploader stay hung at 0%, walk away, come back in an hour, still there. Clearly not an "internet connection" issue as I was able to come here and make this post...
GREAT IDEA: allow us to REPLACE files directly from within CAMTASIA "share" workflow.
Here is what you get when you come back after waiting.
Obviously I do not have an "internet connection problem" if I was able to make this post
Here is the Google CHROME inspect element error:
My 2 cents as a web developer?
You have an AJAX issue... likely related to HTTPS+HTTP/2 protocol and your own upload API. (but that's just a guess based on problems I've seen recently on my systems)
Workaround seems to be "just keep trying to upload it over and over till it go's through" which is not exactly a feature that makes me happy as a user (but one I understand happens as a dev, lol)
good luck!
great product!
keep stacking!

Hi Christian,
I'm sorry to hear you are having trouble with the replace media workflow. I did some digging and I think I found what the problem was. On April 24th between 11:30 AM and 3:00 PM EST Screencast was having some trouble talking to the backend storage system. Because of this we couldn't receive the file. Strangely, it was also taking a very long time to timeout, hence why it was stuck at 0% for so long.
Based on logs I am not seeing the issue anymore, so would you mind retrying and see if your issue persists? If there's still a problem or you have any other issue do let me know!
