    Hi Rida!

    So great to hear repairing/reinstalling Office addressed the issue for you, and thanks for following up! Feel free to reach back out if you run into any other hiccups.

    Hi there!

    To confirm, are you running PowerPoint that is installed locally on the computer, or are you using Office365? What version of PowerPoint are you attempting to send the capture to? What version of Snagit are you currently running?

    Hi Robert

    Yes, Powerpoint is installed locally. The version is 2016 Professional Plus (version 2105 - Build 14026.20246), but I did try a previous version, and then updated Powerpoint to this latest version and didn't work either.

    Snagit version is:   2018.1.1 Build 924.

    by the way, I just updated Snag it hoping it will work, so this Build version is the latest, but I was using  the previous update and same results.

    hi again,

    one thing I noticed today is that in the Output preferences, when I select PowerPoint, it shows "Output name: PowerPoint 2.2.0.0". I don't know what this means, but just in case it is looking for the wrong PP version, as I the one I have is 2016 Professional Plus version.

    appreciate any help, I tried uninstalling today and re-installing from a fresh downloaded version, but unfortunately still didn't work, I tried 2021, but it is asking me to buy the new version (won't accept my product key for the 2018 version).

    UPDATE:

    I installed the trial version for 2021, after exiting 2018, and tested PowerPoint sharing, interestingly, every time I uninstall and install, it still remembers that my last choice for sharing was PowerPoint, so when I run the program it shows PowerPoint in the share box, instead of defaulting to some other value.

    Regarding the test itself, still didn't work and gave this message:

    Does this help figure out the issue?

    Hi all, thanks for the updates;

    I'm going to speak with the team internally and see if we're getting reports of this and to see what mitigating factors can be put in place. I'll update this thread as soon as I hear something.

    Thanks for your patience!

    Hi all;

    In chatting internally there are a few things we'd like to try- first, are you able to share an image to Word or Excel, or does it give you an error message also? Also, I know that reinstalling Office isn't really in the cards, but are you able to do a Repair of it (via the Control Panel - Apps - Repair method) and then reboot the computer and see if Snagit is then able to share to PowerPoint? Lastly, I's like you to try installing this PowerPoint plugin and see if you can share to PowerPoint.

    Thanks!

    Hi Robert

    thanks so much for the followup, Yes I did try sharing to Excel, Word and same error.

    I tried "repair" on Snag-it itself but not office.

    I am, as we speak, re-installing, after I uninstalled, then cleaned the registry of all entries that have "snagit" in them, except for a few that Windows does not allow me to delete, hoping to remove any trace of previous installation. If this doesn't work, I will try the "Repair" option of Office itself.

    I'll let you know.

    Dear Robert

    thanks for the help, the Office Repair fixed it!!

    I did an "online repair" just to make sure I get latest files, it ended up downloading office again and I had to re-enter product key to activate it. I tested PowerPoint and Word and both worked.

    Much appreciated

    Rida
