Pricing versus Knowmia features

I am at the one year point of using Knowmia for my college classes. I create my screencapture videos in Snagit. I then upload them to Knowmia for storage and closed caption creation. Those are the only features of Knowmia I can use since the universities are not LMS integrated with Knowmia. I feel that $200 is too much for the 2 features I use. You can't export Knowmia videos with their closed captions to either my hard drive or screencast. Techsmith has put me and I am sure many other college professors in a tough position. Either pay $200 or forget about your year's worth of videos that took so much effort to create.

Here is what's needed: A Knowmia light version for those that dont need conversation and

quiz enablement.

perhaps consider a different workflow ...

create your screencasts in Camtasia, saving as a project
share from Camtasia to Knowmia
in Knowmia, generate captions
export those captions as an SRT
import the SRT into Camtasia project
share/produce from Camtasia to local PC as MP4 w/SmartPlayer [controller]

you'll now have a local video to view w/captions; can also upload the MP4 to screencast.com
