    Hi folks!

Thank you for your patience while we worked to address this- I'm happy to say that we just released Camtasia 2021.0.9 (more info on 2021.0.9 available here) which should address the issue that you're running into. Please open Camtasia then go to Help - Check for Updates to download the latest version of Camtasia 2021 (or you can manually download it here).

    Thanks again!

I second this... It has lost me hours of work and lead to feelings of much depression!!! I suspect it came in in these bug fixes:

    • Fixed a bug that could lead to too many undo points when editing annotations.
    • Fixed a bug that could lead to too many undo points when editing multiple objects with Behaviors.

Somehow every now and then the undo history can jump in one undo back 45 mins of edits! I have had this in the last two releases of camtasia since these bug fixes were introduced and being a big user of the undo key it has hit me hard. Please fix ASAP!

Has the easing been fixed? That's the single most annoying bug preventing me from updating since 2021.0.5. Come on folks, how hard can it be? I rely on that for everything.

    Thanks

    Cristi

    Hi Cristi at Graphicious.co.uk

Sorry it took so long to get back to you- I had to do some digging around internally, but the easing should have been addressed in 2021.0.9. I'd be curious to know if you've given the latest version of Camtasia a spin yet to see if the easing is working as you expect it to?

    Thanks Robert-R

I have not upgraded yet, was waiting on this confirmation. I use Camtasia daily and don't really enjoy installing and reinstalling :)

Others have also confirmed that it had been fixed so will update right away.

Thanks for getting back to me.

    Cristi

Sorry to say I've upgraded and the issue with Undo is possibly even worse... It's happened even before I used the annotation I believe... and occurs a LOT more than before if you can believe that. I've also had a critical error where camtasia shutdown while trying to drag a clip into a group... Not looking too good.

Still broken with 21.0.10. I hate wasting two hours to redo work! It wiped out a couple of Saves! And to think were were looking at four more licenses. Not until this gets fixed.

I just want to chime in here and say that this is still a problem with 21.0.12. I recently reset my instance of Camtasia for an unrelated issue, but that had no impact on the Undo problem.

Holy cow this bug still exists in 21.0.13. I've used Camtasia for years and I don't ever remember this working. It makes the undo button a useless feature, which is the most basic and most commonly used tool. SO much lost time on this. I'm trying to convince my company to completely migrate to Camtasia, but when they tell me "well you can't even undo stuff" it makes me look really stupid.

I strongly recommend everyone downgrade to 2021.0.5. The most stable version this year. I might stay on it until 2022, lol!

Just happened to me with 2021.0.14.

Guess it's back to 2020.0.8 again! Something is really going wrong at Techsmith.

Just happened to me with 2021.0.14.

Contacted support and they said it was fixed and suggested I "reset settings" in preferences.

If it happens again I'll update here.

The issue has been tackled a couple of times in bug fixes, and it's WAY better than it was. But I most certainly still see it occuring now and then in 2021.0.13... haven't yet used 14 enough to know, but there was nothing about any fix for it in the 14 change log so I suspect it's still there. When it happens just make sure to not do anything else except click redo... it's generally a lot less work trying to manually undo a mistake than re-do all the work you lose... which is usually A LOT *sob*. I'm a bit worried that they think it's fixed...

Well, it keeps happening in 2021.0.14. Confirmed that the "fix" they suggested didn't work.

It's incredible. If they are going to keep releasing buggy beta version crap, they should at least give us more robust autosave options.

You make one tiny change after this happens and its too late, so you have to redo everything from whatever point it goes back to.

Does anyone know the last version of Camtasia where this isn't an issue? I've got to revert to 2020.0.8 again. Had enough...

I've been hit by this several times too.

The only workaround I've found is to completely exit and re-start Camtasia every so often, to be sure it resets the undo buffer properly.

Here to say that the bug is still there in 2021.0.15. Trying to undo one small thing using Ctrl+Z jumps back my edits at least 10 minutes.

    DEAR TECHSMITH,

    THE VERSION HISTORY IS WRONG:

IT IS STILL NOT FIXED IN 2021.0.16. IT STILL HAPPENS.

    PLEASE...DO...SOMETHING...

Okay, I can stop going crazy now 17 updates in...

21.0.17 seemed to do the trick. Thank you Techsmith.

I'm seeing this in v 22.4.0 ! Build number 42084 rel 2nd Dec 22. CTRL-Z and undoes multiple edits - even entire project edits. Redo with Ctrl Y then save and manually re-edit rather than use ctrl Z... seems to be an error that's been around for a while. New user to Camtasia after multiple decades on Adobe video editing - fairly impressed so far but not with this issue!

Ok, an update to V22.4.1 resolves the issue. :)

Yeah, not fixed. I have now re-done work three (maybe four times). I think I will go with the suggestion above to save and close several time to clear the cache (or whatever). Techsmith, this is a very, very bad bug. Please fix!

Update! Support pointed me to 22.4.1 to patch this annoying problem. Thank you, TechSmith!
