How to turn off the optional snag features

When I start a capture (using the Print Screen button), I want to get the crosshairs/selection tool (which I do), draw my selection, and have SnagIt open the editor. Instead, it shows me these buttons to do other things:

Is there a way to turn those things off?

Hello Paul-

You can disable that window by opening the Snagit capture app (not the Editor) and by clicking on the 'Image' tab along the left hand side. See:

Note that this will capture only images, so if you need to record a video, you'll need to create a custom preset or you'll need to open the Snagit capture app and click on 'Video' in that left hand pane, record the video, then reset it back to Image when you're done with your recording.
