Please Add Templates For YouTube End Screens
I was shocked to find no templates for You Tube End Screens on my first visit to my new subscription to Techsmith Assets For Camtasia. I was looking for something like you can see here: https://snappa.com/templates/youtube-end-screen.
You'll see there are 33 templates that a person with a YouTube channel can use in conjunction with YT's End Screen functionality. It is not just a thing saying "please subscribe." YouTube provides several layouts that contain video previews, which will be presented to the viewer. The video link/thumbnail that appears in each box will be dynamic. So one of the boxes is "Best for Viewer" and YT uses their viewing habits to decide which of my channel's videos to present here. Then there is a box for a playlist. When applying the End Screen elements, I tell it which of my playlists to present to the viewer in that box. YouTube has several layouts, but I've attached one that I've used, which is a circle on the right side, top half of the screen, with two rectangles side-by-side in the bottom half of the screen. Note that in the first pick, the YT End Screen layout is overlayed onto a still from the video that I don't want because it makes no sense. No blanks were left for the rectangles and circle. The second pic attached has something I made in Camtasia. I simply used the last part of the video, created a frame from that, blurred that pic in Photoshop (though it certainly doesn't have to be blurred) and re-imported it back into Camtasia. I put the still at the end and stretched it out to last 20 seconds (YouTube's minimum time for an End Screen). And on top of that pic, in another Camtasia track, I put a template I found somewhere online that is a Photoshop file. It's just a transparent pic with the outlines of 2 rectangles and a circle. That is layered over the still pic in Camtasia at the end. Then when the video plays in YouTube, the last 20 seconds will show that pic with those 3 shape elements, and insert the dynamic data in the rectangles (plus the subscribe logo in the circle). It would have been MUCH more helpful for me if I could have just gone into Techsmith Assets and found one I liked and inserted that into the last part of my Camtasia project. Then I wouldn't have had to export the frame, blur it in Photoshop, import it back, import the transparent pic with the shape outlines to layer over it, and then put the Camtasia callout shapes on saying "Did you like this?" and "Subscribe."
Here is the YouTube layout layered over a still from one of my videos. As you can see, that particular graphic is not suitable for an end screen because there are no spaces/blanks where the rectangles and circle would go.
Here is an end screen I created in Camtasia and put at the end of the video so I could overlay the YouTube template.
