assuming the callouts are same size, do the math and set their Y position appropriately

I...guess I COULD do that. But that's even more effort and time than the action I described from Power Point. It seems crazy that layouts in 2022 would require the user to do math. Shudder.

100% agree that there should be a way to do this without tons of needless math.

Agreed. This is a basic and missing function...

[Edited to remove unnecessary snark] I'm adding my voice to the (currently small) chorus of folks who think this should be an option.

I think even distribution among selected bits is an essential feature. I have used the number tool to number rows.  I place the 1st and the last carefully on the correct rows. The others I'm less careful about, but they go in between. I aligned them all to the left. And then I go to evenly distribute vertcical space - and it ain't there. :(

Considering how long Snagit has been out there, I'm surprised this hasn't been included as a feature. It is 100% essential for efficient and professional image editing.

Please add it to the Editor.

Kelly Mcdonald This thread is about Camtasia, but I agree it also belongs in Snagit. Snagit does have a "Distribute evenly" feature that allows selected objects to be distributed evenly vertically or horizontally, but only across the entire length/width of the canvas; there's no relative selection distribution option.

here's another workaround; it's a graphical approach and can produce quick results

kayakman, you are an absolute champion. I love that you create these videos for people, and I've watched various of your videos on different topics over the years. I didn't realize you were the one posting here before—you're like a Camtasia celebrity.

I also love that you've tried to come up with two workarounds to the problem folks are talking about here. That's a solution-focused mindset, and I admire it. Thank you.

That being said, I still want Techsmith to hear us loud and clear: being able to evenly distribute a group vertically and horizontally seems like a fairly basic feature, and I hope they include it.

    Thanks again kayakman!

I'm so shocked that Camtasia doesn't have this feature. PLEASE add this; it would improve my workflow (and satisfaction with the product) IMMENSELY. Without it, I'm left extremely frustrated. It's so disruptive to my workflow to have to stop and try to use one of the workarounds suggested.
