    Sorry about this! If you're on 2021.4.8, we pushed a 2021.4.9 fix today to address that.

    Using Version 2022.1.0 (98107)

    Just repeated all of the recommended changes - including the one which recommended deleting all of the files using the Finder - Go To Folder - copy and paste location - delete files.

    Voila - it worked, and all the files remain in my app !!

    I had tried deleting and reloading the app - and interestingly - the system advised me that one I had just downloaded was older than the one I already had in my system - go figure.

    Anyway - thank you Luke for your prompt reply.  Wishing you good health. . . . .

    I'm on 2022.1.0 (98107). SnagIt now crashes every time I try to do anything.

    Hi Robert,

    We've seen a couple cases where if there was a pending video capture from an old version it would cause this. You can fix this by deleting any .videocapture files in this folder:

    ~/Library/Group\ Containers/7TQL462TU8.com.techsmith.snagit/Snagit\ 2022/PendingCaptures 

    If you still want the videos, you can get the raw mp4 in the adjacent Temporary folder. I hope this fixes the issue for you!
