I am a longterm user of Camtasia and SnagIt.
Recently, I upgraded to Windows 11 [Camtasia and SnagIt].
I am using a Music DAW [Digital Audio Workstation] and tried to record my Video Camera, separate Audio Microphone using Presonus One Music DAW, and a Focusrite 18i20 [USB Audio Interface].
I discovered Camtasia - [others] would not record the DAW Audio - [only the Screen Video]. After contacting Focusrite, Techsmith, and doing some research on the internet if found this is a common problem with some complicated workarounds.
Techsmiths' Mark M [#1015747] suggested I post here for the Product Teams' evaluation.
Initially, my expectation was to record my music DAW - [audio and video] - software audio and video and use Camtasia as a "music recording teaching tool.
. -- [I am certain many would want a simple way to accomplish this DAW recording].
I have done some extensive research into how musicians/others record the Music DAWs.
Apparently, the DAW record is not possible with standard Video recording.
I can "record and playback" videos I make - for example from Youtube music videos [desktop] using Focusrite 18i20 and Camtasia. My Video Camera and Audio are on one track and the Youtube Video and audio are recorded on the second track - [as expected]. When I use the same Camtasia setup to record Presonus Studio One 5 [DAW] - I can record the Video Capture [desktop of the Video Screen Capture Presonus] -- but there is no audio. I have seen numerous tutorials of Presonus Studio One so I know it is possible and many have figured out how to do it with some "complicated" solutions.
The best solutions I could find are below.

I found these youtube videos using VoiceMeeter [banana.
Perhaps Techsmith could consider incorporating the software bridge methods mentioned in the video links.
I just thought you might like to know this information.
